Does insurance cover therapy fully? Depending on your provider, plan, coverage, and deductible, the cost of therapy can vary. Talkspace accepts most major insurance companies, including:

Remember that even with insurance, you’re still responsible for covering any copayment or coinsurance due. These charges can be conveniently paid through our platform, and the cost of therapy copayment will differ depending on your type of coverage and plan.
2. Employer Coverage
Research shows that when employees have adequate access to mental health care, they’re more effective and productive in their jobs, happier, and miss less work.
This incentive has ultimately resulted in more employers offering health care plans that include mental health coverage. Talkspace has partnered with hundreds of employers and organizations across the country, eliminating a huge part of the barrier to access so many people faced in the past. 3. EAP Sessions
Many workplace Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) offer employees a specified number of therapy sessions.
If your EAP covers mental health care, you can get started after a brief assessment that takes less than two minutes to complete. You’ll be matched with a provider and can begin therapy, often in a matter of days.
4. Through HSA or FSA Reimbursement via Superbill
Superbills are a convenient option for some Talkspace members. Essentially, a superbill allows you to be reimbursed for the cost of your therapy.
To use a superbill for therapy, you pay upfront for your sessions. Then, you can be fully or partially reimbursed through your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Savings Account (FSA). HSAs and FSAs are both pre-tax accounts that help you afford healthcare expenses like copays, appointments, and prescriptions.
The main differences between HSAs and FSAs are that you own an HSA for therapy, and you don’t lose the money you put in at the end of each year. FSAs, on the other hand, can be thought of more like a line of credit you can borrow against. Keep in mind if you don’t spend everything you’ve contributed to your FSA account throughout the year, in most cases, you’ll lose it at the end of the year. You can also pay directly for therapy with your FSA card.
5. Through Insurance Reimbursement via Superbill
Superbills may also be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement of the cost of therapy.
Like using an HSA or FSA, you can pay out of pocket for your sessions, submit a superbill to your insurance, and be partially or fully reimbursed. This option can be especially beneficial if your insurance provider isn’t a Talkspace partner.
6. Out-of-Pocket Via Major Debit or Credit Cards
Can you get therapy without insurance? You don’t need to have insurance to receive therapy from Talkspace. You can pay for care out-of-pocket with any major credit card or debit card. Talkspace accepts domestic and international cards and takes CareCredit when Visa, MasterCard, or American Express is the processor.
