Switzerland’s pharma industry IT recruitment activity rises 22.1% in December 2022

Switzerland’s pharma industry registered a 22.1% rise in IT hiring activity in December 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 25.68% in December 2022 when compared with November 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.62% share in December 2022, recording a decrease of 0.22% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Switzerland’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in December 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.28% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s pharma industry in December 2022.

1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 36.21% in December 2022, registering a 200% growth over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 27.59% share, an increase of 128.57% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 25.86%, registering a 150% rise from November 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 6.9%, down 20% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in Switzerland’s IT recruitment activity in December 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 177.78% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s pharma industry during December 2022 over November 2022.

Octapharma posted 27 IT jobs in December 2022 and registered a rise of 125% over the previous month, followed by Mediclinic International with 12 jobs and a flat growth. F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 6 IT jobs and CSL with 3 jobs, recorded a 500% growth and a 40% decrease, respectively, while CompuGroup Medical SE & Co recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during December 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 79.31%, up by 130% from November 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.97% share, registered an increase of 450% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 1.72% share, down 80% over November 2022.
