India’s pharma industry IT recruitment activity drops 5.0% in December 2022

India’s pharma industry registered a 5.0% drop in IT hiring activity in December 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 23.18% in December 2022 when compared with November 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.41% share in December 2022, recording a decrease of 3.11% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in December 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s pharma industry in December 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 39.12% in December 2022, registering a flat growth over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 31.97% share, an increase of 70.91% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 18.37%, registering an 86.21% rise from November 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 9.18%, down 10% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in December 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 106.32% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s pharma industry during December 2022 over November 2022.

AstraZeneca posted 128 IT jobs in December 2022 and registered a rise of 120.69% over the previous month, followed by Merck with 24 jobs and a 25% drop. ICON with 22 IT jobs and F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 13 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 225% growth, respectively, while Clario recorded an increase of 800% with 9 job postings during December 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.06%, up by 27.87% from November 2022. Mid Level positions with a 40.14% share, registered an increase of 24.21% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.46% share, flat growth over November 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.34%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
