United States’s pharma industry IT recruitment activity drops 0.4% in December 2022

The US’s pharma industry registered a 0.4% drop in IT hiring activity in December 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.69% in December 2022 when compared with November 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.46% share in December 2022, recording a decrease of 0.11% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in December 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.64% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry in December 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 38.86% in December 2022, registering a 46.41% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 21.63% share, an increase of 11.85% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 18.36%, registering a 12.98% decline from November 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 9.76%, up 24.24% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in December 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 30.1% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry during December 2022 over November 2022.

Intermountain Healthcare posted 517 IT jobs in December 2022 and registered a drop of 6.34% over the previous month, followed by CVS Health with 153 jobs and a 21.43% growth. Medpace Holdings with 86 IT jobs and AstraZeneca with 81 jobs, recorded a 4200% growth and a 1250% growth, respectively, while Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association recorded an increase of 400% with 75 job postings during December 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.8%, up by 18.84% from November 2022. Mid Level positions with a 29.04% share, registered an increase of 8.2% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.83% share, up 39.12% over November 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.27%, recording a month-on-month decline of 30.77%.
