Asha Kelunni Nair, better known as Revathi, is an Indian actress and director best known for her work in Tamil and Malayalam cinema, as well as Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada films. She has won three National Film Awards in three separate categories, as well as six Filmfare Awards South. She also received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her work in Bhoothakaalam (2022).
Three-time National Film Award winner Revathy Menon has released two films on the topic of organ donation with positive messages. Revathi took the first organ donor card in 1997 from the MOHAN Foundation and is a great ambassador for the cause.
Aye Zindagi is a film about the journey of a 28-year-old liver cirrhosis patient named Vinay Chawla, whose bond with a hospital grief counselor, Revathi, rekindles his hope and faith in life and makes him believe in the power of humanity and Salam Venky, which celebrates the short but “big” life of a late Duchenne muscular dystrophy patient and strikes a humble conversation over euthanasia, both inspired by true stories,
Both are amazingly riveting films and have some great performances, and above all, they carry a beautiful message of love, hope, and healing through organ donation and transplantation.
In this interview, she speaks to Medindia about her experience and personal journey with the two projects. Watch to know more.
