Management Occupations drive social responsibility-related hiring activity

Management Occupations, with a share of 16%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the pharmaceutical industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings drop by 38% quarter-on-quarter. Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations came in second with a share of 12% in Q3 2023, with new job postings dropping by 10% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent social responsibility roles include Healthcare Support Occupations with a 9% share in Q3 2023, Sales and Related Occupations with a 7% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in pharmaceutical industry accounted for 52% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2023 were CSL, Grifols, Novartis, Sanofi, and Gilead Sciences. Together they accounted for a combined share of 52% of all social responsibility-related new jobs in the pharmaceutical industry.

CSL posted 2,786 social responsibility-related new jobs in Q3 2023, Grifols 1,527 jobs, Novartis 565 jobs, Sanofi 506 jobs, and Gilead Sciences 490 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 59.45% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023

The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the pharmaceutical industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 59.45% followed by India (5.72%) and the UK (3.64%). The share represented by the US was seven percentage points higher than the 52.48% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
