This week, we take a look at hiring trends in the pharmaceutical industry in the last three months. After a market slowdown towards the end of last year, hiring plans continued to be affected at the start of 2023 due to rising interest rates and several global events heralding a mild recession. Amidst this, the healthcare space was also affected with several biotechs announcing layoffs.
After a dip in hiring for several types of roles going at the start of the yar, the recruitment rate for several types of roles has been steadily stabilizing. In the last three months, several thousand jobs have been advertised for roles requiring sector-specific expertise, like those for clinical laboratory technologists and technicians, and biological technicians. However, the highest number of active jobs and those that have been filled in the pharmaceutical industry were those for general and operational managers. Registered nurses have also been among roles that have been heavily advertised in the pharmaceutical space.
