Delhi has reported 220 new cases of dengue in the last one week while the total number of new chikungunya cases for the same period stands at 628.
A total of 1,378 cases of dengue and nearly double the number – 2,625 cases – of chikungunya were reported in the national capital till September 17, an official statement said.
“For both – chikungunya and dengue, the areas under the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has reported the highest cases with 102 and 302 cases respectively,” said the statement.
Delhi has witnessed over 30 deaths due to the vector borne diseases.
